Removing the Air Silencer

The silencer starts at the air box, and ends at the front of the car very near the grill. It's hard to see in the picture to the left because that hose is in the way. The silencer is under/behind the hose.

Here's another picture of the silencer. It's the black plastic piece at an angle behind the two small hoses in the middle of this picture.

The silencer joins into the air box where the arrow is pointing. Just use a screwdriver and push the little tab down to release the silencer from the box. There's a single bolt (you can see it in the before picture below) that attaches it to the frame of the car. After freeing the two above mentioned points, you should be able to remove the silencer. It may require removing the whole air box from the frame in order to have enough room to get the silencer out.

This is before the silencer was removed.

This is after the silencer was removed. You should have square 2"x2" hole left in your air box.

This is the silencer after it was removed from the car.
