09.11.06 In the middle of July I took a job at a VW dealer in Memphis, TN. So far, it's going well. I'm enjoying it and learning something new each day. I'm glad fall is near, July and August were really hot here! Not too much is going on now.. just working 8 to 10 hours a day and hanging out the rest of the time.
03.28.06 I'm now in Thorndale/Exton, PA and have started the Volkswagen TRP program. So far, so good. It's a pretty intense program, but I'll definitely learn a lot. Got the Mustang running about 2 weeks before I moved, but it needs a lot of tuning. Right now I am dealing with what appears to be a spark issue once the engine is under a fair amount of load (when MAP is greater than 80 KPa). It feels like the spark is cutting out like it did once before on the 2.3t. I have done all the easy stuff; cap, rotor, wires, & plugs. (Well, plugs weren't easy!) Just ran out of time before I left, so I never figured it out. So far I am liking Megasquirt. It's pretty cool..looking forward to playing with it more in the future. Being able to datalog EVERYTHING any time I want is very helpful in trying to figure out what is going on.
02.22.06 Pretty much finished all the major work on the Mustang about 1.5 weeks ago. Now I just have to get the ignition VR input circuit working in the computer, and it will be ready to fire up. Hopefully I'll be able to figure it out before I leave for Exton, PA in a few weeks. I'm moving up there for 3 months for the Volkswagen MSAT program. After that... who knows. A job, somewhere.
